Happy Belated New Year! {Wasaga Beach Wedding Photographers}

Hello out there!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season. We had a lots of surprises from our friends, showing up to see us unexpectedly from Germany & the North. It was wonderful. Also, we spent lots of time with our Families.

This is the time year when everyone usually looks back over the last year and reflects on what has happened. I have been thinking a lot lately of where I am and what I have. It seems just yesterday I was starting out in the business of photography and I look at where I am today. All I have to say is...Wow and Thank you.

Andrew and I are blessed with such wonderful parents who support us through everything. Without them we would not have been able to accomplish all that we have.

Thank You!

Also, a big Thank you goes out to all of you.

Sometimes we forget to thank people in our everyday lives because we just think that they know how grateful we are. Let them hear it.

Starting into 2010... Wow.

I have big dreams for the future. (If you didn't know I am a bit of a dreamer.) I hope that I will be able to accomplish at least some of them. But I also like how life throws some opportunities at you that you never even thought of or thought possible.

I am ready and can't wait!

Happy New Year.

End Of Season {Georgian Bay Photographers}

We have just come to the end of our Wedding Season. It was a great one, tonnes of fun couples and shooting in so many different locations. We are getting quite booked up for next year and I am really looking forward to photographing in even more locations where we have not been.

I have to say though that the last couple of weeks have been a little hard on me. Thus the reason for not keeping this blog up to date.
Over the weekend we took some time and spent it with our kids. We went for a hike up at Blue Mountain and then down to the village to walk around. It was great to spend time with them and not be thinking about work. Don't get me wrong I love my job it's just I forget to take a break some times.

We have many great shoots still to share with you. So, don't worry I am back to blogging.

Oh yeah, We need some idea's for a float for the Santa Claus Parade. Got any great idea's? Please leave a comment with them. Thanks!

Wouldn't be a photography blog with out an image. Here's the family at Thanksgiving

Music for you

We are all about music at our house & studio. Our spaces are never quiet, as we always have music turned on in the back ground, Andrew playing piano or just plain singing tunes that we can't get out of our heads. So,I have included in this blog a cute little silver box on the left side called Last.FM. If you ever fell it's to quiet while viewing the blog just click on one of the songs and poof instant music. I hope you enjoy what we like to listen to.
Cheers,
Kate

Another side of Collingwood

Andrew & I were asked by our friends at Pyroworld to photograph the fireworks in Collingwood. We arrived early to take some images of the setup, have a quick dinner and explore where we wanted to photograph from. It was a great night! Here are some of the images we captured before the fireworks.

Returning to My Roots...

This morning while on my journey taking Quinn to preschool, I found these unique moments to photograph. This is how I got started in photography capturing nature and unique places.
Sometimes, I forget how great it is to get out and wander through the woods or down the beach to capture those amazing everyday moments in nature. Here's some of what I captured this morning.

I hope you had a good morning.

Cheers,
Kate

Family Time

Most of you who know us know that we have two young kids. At times, it can be hard trying to have enough quality time for everyone including yourself. So, this past week we closed up shop and went on a holiday. We drove a lot, swam a lot and had tonnes of fun. Here are a few from the many favorites taken during our trip.

Apparently we tired them out! Although, not for long Quinn was up at 7:30 to fish with dad.

Wishing you the best for the summer!

Collecting, Finding, Playing- It's Spring!

Our family loves maple syrup! So this year at Easter we took the kids to the sugar bush to see it being made. They had lots of fun on the wagon ride and liked watching the sap being boiled down. When we got home Andrew decided to try to make some maple syrup for ourselves. So after many weeks of collecting and boiling we were able to make two and a half liters. Pretty good for our first time. As well during this fun time of getting outside to check the buckets we recorded many images of spring at our house.

Playing: Can't beat paddling in your own backyard.

Coming soon Becky and Mike's Wedding!

Black & White Gallery

We have been quite busy with business lately as well as with life. Sometimes it seems we all get so caught up in what we are doing we forget about the abundance of beauty that surrounds us.
I have put together this black and white gallery of our images to help remind us of that beauty. Also, to show and express to all of you our love of the outdoors. Enjoy!

As always we love to hear from you so don't be afraid to leave comments or email us.

Cheers,
Kate & Andrew

Looking for something special?

My brother got married this past September and for helping with the wedding they gave me this great pair of earrings.
I confess, I am not much of a jewellery person. But, that being said "I love these earrings!" I wear them to every wedding that I photograph and get such compliments on them. So I thought that I would share them with you all who have not had a chance to see them. Also, let you know where you might be able to get your own pair.

The earrings are from Nash Jewellers which is located in London Ontario. Nash Jewellers has been serving London and area since 1918. A family owned and operated business dedicated to helping customers fulfill their fine jewellery wishes. Please click on the title bar to take you to the Nash Jewellery website.
Oh, Valentines day is coming up?

Until next time,
Kate

Once upon a time...

A few weeks ago we were at Blue Mountain ski resort for Laura and Michael's wedding. Laura and Michael had a horse drawn carriage to tour them around the village and as their photographers Andrew and I went with them. I was excited by the opportunity to photograph the horses against the backdrop of lights from Blue Mountain. Here's my view:

Stay tuned for Laura & Michael's Wedding.

The world a far in our own back yard.

This image was taken yesterday down at our beach yet it looks like it was taken somewhere on the other side of the world.
We have been busy and I seem to have missed a week updating the blog. Wow and it's already August tomorrow. Next week we will be posting Colin and Melissa's wedding that took place at the Oakwood Resort in Grand Bend. Lots more to come this summer so stay tuned!
Cheers,
Kate

Inukshuk

You will be seeing this photo a little more often. This is Andy's picture that has already been featured in Kanawa magazine and now has been chosen to be a Canadian post-card. It was taken in Killarney Provincal park in 2000 on a kayak trip that Andy took with a friend.
Congratulations Andy!!
